Museum Hours
The museum is open to the public free of charge on the second Thursday of each month from 7 to 8:30p.m. and the fourth Sunday of each month from 1p.m. to 4p.m., weather permitting.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from February through December at 7p.m. at the museum.
Directions
From Honesdale
Follow SR-191 North to SR-670 North and follow for approximately 15 miles. At stop sign, make right onto Great Bend Turnpike/PA-371 East. The Pleasant Mount Historical Society is less than half a mile ahead, on your right.
From the South
Follow I-81 North to Exit 187, US-6 East/Governor Robert P. Casey Highway toward Carbondale. Follow for approximately 20 miles. At traffic light in Waymart, turn left onto Belmont Street/PA-296 North. Follow for approximately 6 miles. At stop sign, continue onto Belmont Turnpike/PA-247 South for 1.5 miles. Turn right at Sherwood Dr/State Route 4025 and stay on for approximately 2 miles. At stop sign, take slight left onto Creek Drive/PA-170 South for 1 mile. At top of hill, take left onto Bethany Turnpike/PA-670 North for a little over 1 mile.
At stop sign, make right onto Great Bend Turnpike/PA-371 East. The Pleasant Mount Historical Society is less than half a mile ahead, on your right.
From the North
Follow I-81 South to Exit 211 for PA-92 toward Lenox. Turn right onto PA-92 South for less than half a mile. Turn left onto PA-106 East for 3.8 miles. Turn left onto Brooklyn St/PA-374 East and follow for 1.5 miles. Turn right to stay on PA-374 East for 2.6 miles, then turn right onto Brace Rd/PA-374 East. You will pass Elk Mountain. At stop sign, turn left onto Lyon Street/PA-374 East for 1.5 miles. At next stop sign, turn right at Old Newburg Turnpike/PA-374 East for almost 3 miles. At stop sign, go straight onto Great Bend Turnpike/PA-371 East and follow for approximately 2.5 miles. The Pleasant Mount Historical Society will be on your right.
From Philadelphia, Allentown, Southern New Jersey or Delaware
Use the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Route 476) to I-81 North. Then, follow “From the South” directions above.
From NYC or Northern New Jersey
Follow I-80 West to I-380 North to I-81 North. Then follow “From the South” directions above.
Annual Events
A celebration and open house is held every year on July 4.
The Buddy Caffery Memorial Golf Tournament is held each year on the fourth Sunday of September.
The Holiday Open House is held each year on the first Saturday in December.
